A Veteran’s Mission to Help Other Veterans

My name is Sgt. James Spencer. I am a retired U.S. Army Special Forces veteran, a member of the Health Restoration Foundation board, and someone who lived for many years with severe symptoms of complex PTSD.

The VA worked hard to help me. At one point, my care included more than 20 prescription medications, including antidepressants, antipsychotics, benzodiazepines, and treatments for migraine headaches and other health problems. I also attended weekly psychiatric counseling, including cognitive behavioral therapy. These treatments provided only modest relief.

Due to the generous help from the Foundation, I was offered a free alternative therapy to try. This therapy (called BlissThera®) changed the course of my life. My severe PTSD symptoms, which had been having a huge negative impact on my life, improved rapidly. With regular use, my PTSD symptoms have almost completely resolved. The relationships with my family, friends, and neighbors improved dramatically, and I have resumed remodeling my home. Under medical supervision, I was able to discontinue my psychiatric medications, don’t have  migraine headaches, and I no longer need regular psychological therapy. Today, the only prescription I use occasionally is a medication for chronic pain.

I often say that this therapy gave me my life back.

As a board member, my new mission is to help make this therapy available to other veterans who suffered mental health injuries while serving our country. Through your donation, the Health Restoration Foundation can provide alternative therapies, such as BlissThera therapy, to veterans with PTSD at no cost.

Please help us give more veterans the opportunity to heal.
